Since May 2017, he’s released 13 novels—the complete 7 book Galaxy Ascendant series, The
Dragon Hand, and Volumes 1-5 of his first light novel series, Light Unto Another World. And volumes 6-10 of that series are coming soon. In addition to writing, Yakov spends his time doing ninja training (the obstacle course kind, not the assassin kind—though he wouldn’t tell you if it was the latter, would he?) and dabbling a bit in bladesmithing. Got to stay active, after all, and those activities might as well be fun. Yakov Merkin has known for a long time that he’s meant to write, even back when he was still an academic working on his Master’s Degree in History.
